Good Design Awards Criteria
1. Novelty and distinctiveness
The qualities that differentiate a design from its rivals: originality and distinctiveness.
2. Functionality
To perform the basic function correctly and without facing any problems.
3. Meeting the Needs of the User
Appropriateness of design meeting the targeted need and the degree of answering that need.
4. Honesty and sincerity
To realize the promised function and performance, to reflect correctly the function and qualifications of the product to the user with its visual language and form.
5. Aesthetics
The extent which aesthetic qualities support and develop the product: to sustain its visual unity, to save aesthetic qualities in different situations (on-off, frontal-side ways, static-dynamic), to create an attractive and appealing effect
6. Ease of use
To respect the user's effort and time: functional specifications to be easily understandable and usable, to be comfortable physically and psychologically
7. Health and Safety
Not to harm the user's health, to be precautious towards accidents, complying with the standards regarding health and security
8. Economy
Appropriatenes of life span and price with respect to the value and benefit it provides to the user; to provide economical and eficient usage, to consume less energy.
9. Design Quality for Manufacture
Proper design details to be developed for a qualified manufacture
10. Environmental Effects
To sensitively consider factors like recycling, life span, energy consumption, economic usage of natural resources, waste creation during the manufacturing, use and disposal. To take necessary precautions in order to minimize the product's negative effects to the environment.

• Bringing a radical and positive reform to its user's life

• Offering high level functionality which is practical and can easily be understandable
Aesthetic superiority
• Possessing aesthetic qualities which will upgrade the society's taste: addressing the society with the visual quality and also owning an aesthetic feature for upgrading the taste
• Being interesting and remarkable: carrying sensational surprise lines
• Designer catching an expression which is beyond the age
Sensibility to the users
• Providing a medium to have an emotional tie with the user, being delighted to use, to enrich the functionality and usability with its interaction
• Finding high level solutions to problems faced by the users
• Bringing new and superior qualities in maintenance, rehabilitation and development (adding new functions)
• Rendering the user free, effective, productive and powerful, encouraging the user to be creative
